2xSquad Rules
Introduction:

This league is organised and administered by the UK Air Attack Club. These rules are in addition to the code of conduct that is displayed on the Central Launch Pages (CLP) when pilots log into the game.

Squad rules:

  • Pilots may not fly for more than one squad. Squads that are found to be operating such pilots WILL forfeit any match they have played.

  • Pilots must be registered as members of their squad on the CLP prior to competing in any matches. Failure to do this will mean the pilot will NOT see the match arena.

  • Pilots tags must be distinguishable using in-game views from one another. Failure to do this will mean the pilots concerned will NOT be permitted to fly.

Game specific Rules:

  • All matches take place on the Ketsujin server, accessed from the CLP

  • All pilot tags must be distinct, visible and easily distinguishable. If code letters/numbers have to be used, place them AFTER the pilot names. If the squad name is of such a length that an insufficient part of the pilot name is visible then squads may be asked to abbreviate their squad name to allow easy identification of pilots in the heat of battle.

  • Arenas will be open 10 minutes before the published start time in the fixtures list.. The game will start within 5 minutes of this time. Referees may penalise squads considered to be delaying the start of the match.

  • All matches should have an independent referee assigned. In the event that a referee is unavailable for any match, it is acceptable for each competing squad to referee one half each, ensuring that recordings are kept in case of complaint.

  • Map boundaries: teams will stay within the boundaries of the map which is 2 squares out from the runways. Any pilot leaving this area will be classed as dead and their team will be docked 1 ratio point accordingly. Pilots so penalised must immediately crash without further enemy engagement and respawn at their home base. This applies to all pilots out of the permitted area regardless of reason. Failure to crash when directed to do so by the referee will result in forfeiture of the half

  • The matches are intended to be flown with a certain number of pilots per squad ("set number"). If BOTH squads are able to field more pilots then they may field as many pilots as they are able to, subject to the team numbers being equal at the start of the half. The number of pilots in the second half may NOT exceed the number in the first half (if started with this "set number" or above) unless both CO's are able to field extras. Non-flying pilots are encouraged to sit on the US base unless the referee decides not to allow it for reasons which will be explained to the squad C/O. Pilots sitting on the US runway must respect the referee at all times or will be asked to leave. The set numbers are 6 for division 2 matches and 8 for division 1

  • If a pilot wishes to join mid-match AND their team has less than the set number of players, they may after their CO has notified the referee of their impending arrival.

  • For the purposes of this league, the squads will be flying GB/SU or GE/US camps. Squads may distribute their pilots as they wish between their allied nations, with the restriction that once the scramble command has been issued, pilots may not change either their nation or plane.

  • Teams will be designated 'Home' and 'Away' with the home team starting the first half as GB/SU and the second half as US/GE and vice-versa.

  • There will be no countdown, and no lining up - Pilots MUST remain in their spawn position until the referee has issued the scramble command.

  • Substituting players during a half is not allowed. If a player disconnects during the game, and a squad has players sitting on the US base, then, after a 5 minute wait, they may join their team.

Conduct and grievance:

  • Squadrons will restrict themselves to friendly / internal comms and will heed the commands of the referee at ALL TIMES. Referees will be instructed to penalize any squadron that disrupts the other teams by flooding the comms or refuses to obey their commands.

  • Runwaying, runway ramming, persistent crashing and escaping by an individual or team will result in that team being penalized. Continued misbehavior after this point may result in forfeiture of the game. In this matter the Referee has the final judgment.

  • Unsporting behaviour: this league is intended to be fun for all teams playing in it, consequently teams must be seen to be playing the game fairly.

  • It is not permissible for a squadron to deliberately remain seated on the runway and refuse to take off or to avoid engaging the enemy for prolonged periods of time.

  • If a squadron quits a match early, then they forfeit the game, and all league points won in that game.

  • It is at the referees discretion whether he/she feels that a squadron have been deliberately unsporting and they can award the game to the opposition. The referees decision on this will be final, supported by a recording of the game to the LM and CC. Disputes will be handled by the LM and CC as is appropriate.

  • The Referee must not be rammed, shot, stabbed, run over, mutilated, burned, covered in tar or feathers, beaten, battered, verbally or physically abused, or generally ignored .

  • Squadrons must cease shooting and land immediately at the end of each half. If a squadron continues killing then they may be penalized a league point.

  • If squadrons have a complaint regarding one of the other teams, or a referee, the C/O only will email the 2 Squad League Master ( lm©airattack.co.uk ).

  • Complaints regarding the LM must be passed to the Club Captain by Email. Please ensure all complaints are polite or mails will simply be bounced back to you.

  • It is advised that at least one member of each team as well as the referee records each game to help clear up any possible disputes. Complaints will not be heeded without this evidence.

Timing and scoring

  • The match will be split into 2 halves, with each half lasting 30 minutes. Arenas will be visible to members of competing squadrons and other club officials.

  • There will be a total of 3 league points available for each match, split into 1 point for winning each half and 1 extra point for the team with the most points from both halves (the 'overall winner').

  • The Squadron that obtains the first kill in EACH half of the match will receive five bonus ratio points. Other ratio points will be awarded as scored by each team regardless of win or lose.

  • Squadrons win by default (3 points) if they show up for a match at the agreed time, but no member of the other team arrives within 10 minutes of the match start time.

  • If a team does not show up for a match they may at the discretion of the league master be docked 4 league points.

  • If two teams are equal on league points at the end of the season, the league placings will be determined by the Result of their league match.
  • If 2 squads are tied and their match was a draw or more than 2 squads are tied, the following will determine the final positions:

    1. Wins (if still tied)
    2. Halves won (if still tied)
    3. 1st kills (if still tied)
    4. Playoff

Fixtures and results:

  • The fixtures list for the first half of the league is published prior to the start of the league. Fixtures for the second half are published towards the end of the first half or shortly afterwards during the break.

  • Match results will be posted on the UK AAC forums. Individual referees may choose to also post the results on other community sites, but this is not a requirement.

  • A current standings database will be maintained by the League manager or another nominated person, and standings made accessible to all.

Should any clarification or expansion of these rules be required, you may contact the League Manager on the UKAAC forums, or by email to lm©airattack.co.uk.
